Frequently Asked Questions

I've forgotten my password or username

No problem! Click on the Login button at the top of any page and choose the 'Forgot your username' or 'Forgot your password' options. You'll be able to reset either of them using your email address. If you still have problems accessing the site, you may have been temporarily locked out. If so drop us a message and we'll sort it out.

If your University has a subscription you should be able to login automatically from a University site by clicking the Login button. This works by recognising the IP address of your University. If you are logging in from home, the auto settings won't work and you will need to sign up for a free individual subscription instead.

How do I change my username and/or password?

Your username is usually generated from your registration form and your password is created automatically by our server. If you wish to change either of these, please go to My Account, enter a new password, confirm it and click save. If you have any problem doing this, please contact us and we can do it manually.

How do I make comments on articles?

We have been experimenting with ways of making it easier to make comments on articles, but unfortunately this has led to quite a lot of spam comments being generated (but luckily filtered out by our software). The best solution we can think of at the moment is that comments can only be made by registered subscribers. This may seem a bit inconvenient, but don't forget that anyone can register for a free trial, which is long enough to make lots of useful and interesting comments, and this can then be cancelled if you decide not to continue (though we hope you stay!). We've switched off Recaptcha at the moment to make it easier to comment when you are a registered subscriber. Also don't forget to login first, otherwise it will tell you that your email address is already registered on the system!

How do I submit work for publication?

We accept both academic and journalistic articles, artwork, videos and audio. All items submitted must follow the Contributor Guidelines and publication is not automatic. We have a system of Editor review for journalistic items, artwork etc and all academic articles are peer reviewed.

How much is a subscription?

Subscriptions for individuals are currently free. There is a charge for Universities and organisations (see here for details). This ejournal is a non-profit project run by UK registered charity The Creativity Centre Educational Trust. We are an independent charity which provides education about all aspects of creativity. Because the ejournal is online and not printed, we can keep the subscription costs to a minimum. However, we do have to cover some costs, so to keep the journal independent, we need to generate some income. We researched the cost of the subscription with potential subscribers, and by looking at what other journals charge, and we feel our prices are very competitive. New material will be added to the site regularly and a whole new theme of articles will be uploaded every few months. We hope you find it to be excellent value for money.

Are my financial details secure?

Yes, they are completely secure. We don't have any access to your financial information. Our payment providers Worldpay and PayPal take your payment details and keep them securely. They then send a message to our server to say that you've subscribed, paid, cancelled etc. We do not have access to your payment details or any of your passwords. Both Worldpay and PayPal are internationally recognised for their safety and security.
